Dr. Monica Guyett was born in Seattle, WA, and from there moved to Little Rock, Arkansas at the age of 8, then further to St. Charles, IL, at the age of 12. Dr. Guyett graduated from St. Charles North High School. She continued her education at the University of Illinois for where she received her Bachelor of Science in animal sciences and her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Guyett was also a 4-year varsity athlete of the Illini Women's Swim and Dive team.
Dr. Guyett has wanted to be a veterinarian since her career day in kindergarten and spent many summers on her grandparents' farm in Iowa as well as volunteering at the rural veterinary office in Iowa and various local veterinary hospitals. These experiences allowed her to develop skills with both large and small animal medicine.
When not at work, Dr. Guyett enjoys spending time with her family, reading (with a library of over 1200 titles and counting), biking, and relaxing with her dogs, Bruno, Jessie, and Sophie.
