Rhonda Farthing grew up in Kentucky and moved to Virginia in 1976. She began her working career in a clothing distribution center, learning and performing all jobs in the various departments. After 15 years she was promoted and transferred to the call center department and became the first call center director for this company in the state of Virginia. At that time, there were 5 call centers in the US. Gradually the call centers were relocated out of the US, and the Virginia call center was the last remaining location. In 2004, the Virginia call center closed and that was when Rhonda applied for a veterinary assistant position. Since her employment in the veterinary field, she has performed as assistant, kennel attendant, CSR, HR, and currently holds the position of office manager.
Rhonda has one daughter, Laura, a physician assistant at a local hospital, third shift emergency room. Her daughter is married and has two children (Noah, 5 and Elizabeth, 3).
Outside of work, she loves spending time with her family, pets, building bird houses and currently has about 50 bird houses in her back yard. Rhonda and her husband have recently been adopted by a pair of mallard ducks (Mr. & Mrs. Quackers) that stay in a park behind their house. The ducks come daily to eat and swim in a baby pool purchased just for the pair to enjoy.
