Dave Fowler
DVM, DACVS
Dr. Dave Fowler was born and raised in Casper, Wyoming. Veterinary medicine was his passion from a very young age, and he realized his dream of becoming a veterinarian at Colorado State University. After receiving his DVM degree Dave travelled north to Saskatoon where he completed an internship in small animal medicine and surgery followed by a small animal surgical residency. Dave successfully passed board examinations as a Diplomate in the American College of Veterinary Surgeons in 1987. He served on the small animal surgical faculty at the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in Saskatoon from 1984 through 2002 where he also served as Head of the Department of Anesthesiology, Radiology and Surgery from 1997 through 2000. During his tenure in Saskatoon Dave trained many of the veterinarians now practicing in Western Canada.

Dave left university life in 2002 to enter private practice helping to build a specialty and referral practice first in Calgary and now with VCA Canada Guardian Veterinary Centre in Edmonton.

Dave enjoys mountain biking, diving and adventure racing. He and his wife Pam are pretty much bossed around by their two rescue dogs, Bob and Margaret.
