Dr. Sarah Flint was raised in Calgary and completed her veterinary degree in 2005 at the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in Saskatoon. Following her final year of veterinary school, she went on to complete a rotating small animal internship at Washington State University College of Veterinary Medicine. In 2006, she returned to Calgary and spent a year in general practice at 9th Avenue Animal Hospital and although she enjoyed her time there, decided to apply for an internal medicine residency. She was accepted into the internal medicine residency program at the Ontario Veterinary College in Guelph in 2007, and as part of the residency, performed research evaluating immune-mediated hemolytic anemia and blood clotting in dogs. In 2010, she successfully achieved board certification by the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine and defended her thesis to obtain a Doctor of Veterinary Science degree. Following completion of her residency, she decided to move back to Alberta, and has been practicing here since September 2010.
