Not many people - not even many veterinarians - can say that they performed a caesarian on a horse in the middle of a field but Dr. Joyce Clark can. While growing up in Vermont, Dr. Clark had a pet pig named Spot that slept with a teddy bear and played with her family's dog. She also had a rabbit named Hopper who roamed free in the yard and would scratch on the back door to come into the house. Before becoming a veterinarian, Dr. Clark volunteered at both large animal and small animal hospitals and at the Indianapolis Zoo.
Dr. Clark earned her bachelor's degree in zoology from the University of Vermont and her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Oklahoma State University College of Veterinary Medicine. She is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and her professional interests include exotic pets, nutrition, surgery and preventive medicine. She especially appreciates "the day-to-day challenges and variety that comes with treating different kinds of animals" and sharing her knowledge with our clients.
At home, Dr. Clark has two Boston Terriers, Nate and Ava, and one Bourke and one Budgie parakeets. In her free time, Dr. Clark enjoys gardening, photography, travel and outdoor activities.
