Amanda’s path began in 2002, after graduating from Laurentian University with a degree in Biomedical Biology. Amanda had always wanted to work with animals, and she discovered the role of a Veterinary Technician when her family dog fell ill while she was in university. Amanda went to Seneca College in King City and graduated from the Veterinary Technology program in 2004.
After returning to her hometown of Sudbury and working in primary care practices, she realized that Emergency Medicine was where she wanted to be. Soon after, Amanda moved south and started working in both the Dermatology and Emergency departments at the 404. Amanda is now the Technical Manager for the Emergency Department and enjoys recruiting and mentoring new team members.
Outside of work, Amanda is a certified Yoga Instructor and also plays on a competitive traveling roller derby team. She has also filled her house with cats, with the newest being a Ragdoll named Fizzgig.
