Dr. Valerie Madden grew up on northern Vancouver Island and attended undergraduate studies at the University of Victoria. She completed her veterinary degree at the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in 2010.
She completed an internship at VCA Canada CARE Centre in Calgary and stayed on there as an emergency doctor for the following year. Val went on to finish an emergency and critical care residency at Cornell in Ithaca NY, and in 2015 became a board certified Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care (DACVECC).
Val's professional interests include management of polytrauma and sepsis, as well as advanced critical care practices including mechanical ventilation. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her family and pets.
