Christopher Whipp

Dr. Christopher Whipp completed both his undergraduate and Master’s degrees at the University of Ottawa. He then obtained his DVM degree from the Ontario Veterinary College in 2014. After completing a one-year internship in small animal medicine and surgery at the Atlantic Veterinary College, Dr. Whipp began a 3 year residency in comparative cardiology at the University of Minnesota, which he completed and obtained board certification in 2019.

His professional interests include the management of congestive heart failure and degenerative mitral valve disease. In addition, Dr. Whipp received extensive training during his residency in cardiac, vascular, and non-vascular interventional procedures. He is very excited to offer the Ottawa area a wide range of minimally-invasive, catheter based procedures including PDA occlusion, balloon valvuloplasty for valvular stenosis, pacemaker placement, in addition to vascular and urinary stenting, glue embolization, tumour chemoembolization, and intrahepatic shunt embolization.

Dr. Whipp was born and raised in Ottawa and is excited to be returning to the National Capital Region. He shares his home with his fiancée Hayley, their two dogs Margaret and Gordon, and their cat Mila. In his spare time Chris enjoys cooking, playing music, and spending time in the gym.
